Wolverine...the first torture tour

Wolverine Mt. is about 4,500 ft high and is not technical or difficult. It is however long. The day was overcast and cold.

There were no views (normally fantastic) but the company was great and the wild flower display was better than could be expected.

So...my "down" legs are very very sore. My friend Veronica showed up from D.C. with Simon, a work friend from Australia and asked if we could go hiking. Good idea if your legs are ready for it. We decided to go off trail for the descent and found the engine from the plane wreck (carcass of the plane is near the summit of the trail) and we found lots of evidence of a bear trying to eat ground squirrels. There were several large excavations around ground squirrel homes.

So, that's the story...it's a cold grey summer and we're all waiting for the brilliant day...or at least a day of 70 degrees F.
