The snow keeps on coming - I believe the pass received at least 3 feet since Friday. Alyeska resort just reported over 700 inches of snow. I'm hoping weather patterns hold and that next week the Telemark Telepalooza is a success. We had mixed weather and white out conditions on our first trip up. Our friend Meg took the Avalanche Course this past winter and we decided we needed a refresher. We chose to stay off the steeper open bowls on Tin Can and set up shop just below Jerome's Dome. We were able to see the different storm events and determined conditions were stable at least on the lower angle slops. It's important to know the area you're in and to really pay attention to the Chugach Advisory. I would not go on a day like yesterday, without taking extreme caution. The snow was a bit heavy but pretty remarkable all the same.

When we came home at the end of the day we found a cow moose and calf parked in our yard. All in all it was a great day.
